Ice sports have a history most people have never heard. Pioneers who broke barriers, changed the rules, and made it possible for the athletes who followed. Their stories deserve a home.
The Museum at District Ice Rink will be a dedicated space to celebrate the athletes, coaches, and leaders who shaped ice sports into what it is today. From the first Black figure skaters to compete nationally, to the coaches who built programs in communities where none existed, to the performers who brought ice to stages around the world, this is their story.
Ice has always belonged to everyone. The Museum is how we prove it.
This is more than history on a wall. It is a living collection of the people, moments, and movements that prove ice has always belonged to everyone. We are building it so the next generation of skaters can see themselves in the legacy before they ever step on the ice.
